Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Vantmetry platform, including the tracker script, dashboard, CLI, and API (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Vantmetry is a frontend error tracking service. You install a lightweight tracker script on your website. The tracker captures browser errors and sends them to Vantmetry's servers, where they are stored and made available for analysis through a web dashboard, CLI, and API.

2. Accounts

You can start using Vantmetry by running vant init in the CLI, which creates an anonymous trial account. To access the dashboard, manage billing, or retain your data long-term, you must register with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your API keys and account credentials secure. Do not share your secret API key publicly.

3. Free Trial

New accounts start with a free trial. During the trial, you have full access to all features. When the trial expires, ingestion, queries, and dashboard access are paused until you subscribe to a paid plan. Your data is preserved during this period.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed through Paddle, our payment processor (Merchant of Record). Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing, sales tax, and VAT. By subscribing, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings in the dashboard. After cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. Once that period ends, your account reverts to an expired state and access is paused. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

7. Data Ownership

You own the error and log data that the tracker collects from your websites. We do not sell, share, or use your data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you. We may use aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (such as total event counts) to monitor and improve the Service.

8. PII Masking

The tracker applies automatic PII masking before data leaves the browser, redacting patterns that match email addresses, credit card numbers, tokens, and other sensitive values. This masking is provided as a best-effort safeguard. You remain responsible for ensuring that your application does not intentionally log sensitive personal data through the tracker.

9. Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The tracker is designed to fail silently and never block your website's main thread. If the Service is temporarily unavailable, error data captured during that window may be lost.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, its code, design, and documentation are owned by Vantmetry. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding. The tracker script is provided for use solely in connection with the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of abuse or security threats. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Limitation of Liability

Vantmetry is an error tracking tool, not a guarantee against errors. We are not liable for any damages resulting from errors in your application, data loss due to service outages, or decisions made based on data displayed in the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Vienna, Austria, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Vienna, Austria.
